Aside from the constant reminder that you’re single, I think one of the problems with dating apps is that it seems to indicate that you are using the app, if you are so much as using your phone for anything else. Last Friday, to try to soften the blow of not having a date, I went to the casino with my mom and brother. We are skilled enough gamblers that we ended up being there for a long time before our money ran out. I got home at 2:00AM on Saturday. I set the alarm on my phone to not waste away my weekend, and “BEEP!” New message from 26 year old looking for love:
“Hey looking for a late night fling”
“What?! No!”
Damn you, IPhone, I was NOT on my dating apps.
“Really? why not have a fun night for yourself?”
For those of you out there that actually do this, I admire your bravery. I just do not understand the mindset of “It’s super early in the morning, I should go make questionable choices with a weirdo from the internet!” Besides, being female, if I was after sex, I’d easily be able to find it.
“I don’t think you understand how easy that is for me to find. You are not a commodity.”
“Lol I’m one of a kind. Just like you are. I’ll make your night wonderful ;-)”
I didn’t respond, and went to bed. I often laugh at the attempts made to try to convince me to sleep with someone I don’t know. “I’ll make your night wonderful.” Pshh! You don’t know that! What I didn’t know was that he wasn’t done trying to convince me. I woke up in the morning to more:
“Do you ever think about how 100 years ago we never existed and in 100 years, 500 years and 1,000 years we once more will not exist, as we know existence as today anyway… It makes you just want to spend your little time doing great things you’ll remember, like having an amazing night with a 25 year old, doesn’t it”
I’ll give him a half a point for “one I’ve never heard before.” But, it didn’t work. I told him that I’d rather travel than waste my precious time banging strangers. He then introduced himself, told me he is actually 26, and argued that he was no longer a stranger.

LOL! I don’t now, I have no such experience. But possibly dangerous 🙂 I think there is always certain percent of girls saying like that, I mean, I have a lot of friends hanging on dating apps such as Tinder or Party Line and they claim they have success evey week 🙂 if you know what I mean.. they say they have proof for your question

Sleeping with strangers just doesn’t appeal to me on any level. And there’s nothing (so far!) that I’ve been told that has managed to convince to. I’d rather spend my nights at home with my dogs or having fun with my friends. And guaranteed, he doesn’t know what is going to make it “wonderful” for me. Ha! Yeah, life is short, but I’m going to spend my time doing exactly what I think is fun and worth my time.
Also, holy cow, men can be strange in their logic when trying to convince someone to have sex with them. I’ve heard some interesting lines and reasoning!

This is timely…I just published a short book on this subject…sort of. I had sex with someone is only been talking to online for about a month. (Granted, I had only come out of a 12 year period of celibacy shortly before. Which clearly effected my decision.) It was AMAZING! ! Which is one of the reasons I wrote about it. That experience was surpassed only by our second time together. B
But it can be dangerous. (It never was with him.) I was in a different place then. While slightly different , Have you never had a one night stand? I had one with my ex…or so I assumed it would be. We stayed together for 2 tv years.

In truth, it really isn’t that we think we can convince you (although we approach it that way so it makes it easier on the ego) but if we beg well enough you will just give in and say yes and we can pat ourselves on the back for being able to “woo” you into bed and alleviate or fears

How about wooing them without expecting sex and massaging that ego, seems respect and good manners is never a prerequisite for a relationship anymore.
